On December 5, 2019, over a year later, Max announced via social media that 'Salt' would be officially released on all platforms a week later on December 12, 2019. She then posted the audio to her YouTube channel three days later and took to Instagram to say that 'Salt is one of favorite songs' and that 'it’ll just be up on YouTube Channel and SoundCloud' because she could not wait any longer to release it.
